
Pichai Sundararajan, better known as Sundar Picha is an Indian-American business executive. [6] He serves as the chief executive officer (CEO), of Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineer. He graduated with an M.S. in the United States following his move to the United States. He graduated with a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University. He also obtained an MBA from Wharton School of Pennsylvania. Following a brief stint at McKinsey, Pichai moved to Google in 2004. He was in charge of the development of Google Drive and also for the management of products and innovations. In addition he was later able to oversee the development of other applications such as Gmail as well as Google Maps. Pichai announced in the year 2010 that Google had made the open-source video codec VP8 and also introduced WebM an entirely new video format. In 2012, the Chromebook was introduced. In 2013 Pichai also added Android to the list of Google products that he was responsible for.
