Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with twelve other kids. Her vivid imagination allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. Her songs were written before she could read or write. Her first guitar purchase came at age 8 and started singing at an Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. That following time, Gold Band Records was an independent label. While she was popular in the local scene while she was at the high school years, her dreams were greater. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV show was in need of a new singer at around this point. Parton was hired in 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, but in 1974, because her solo albums like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. Parton recorded I Will Always Love You to Wagoner following their split. The song reached the top of the charts at. The first time a song hit the top spot.
