
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez June 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakthrough came through her role as Tina in the movie Do the Right Thing (1989), which was followed by White Men Can't Jump (1992). Perez's performance as Tina in Fearless (1993), earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her leading film roles in the past include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008), and Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her performance in the film The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has been in Broadway stage plays like The Ritz and Frankie, Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also hosted The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. [11] Her mother lived in the poverty of Woodside Houses by 1999. She died of complications from AIDS in 1999.
